Forced Entry I am respecting your privacy by knocking but asserting my authority by coming in anyway!

1
The power to lock, unlock, or open things.
Used by Cleatus Abernathy, Created by leonvanderblight.
(When activating this Effect, it is obvious you are interacting with the target. You must actively and obviously be using A boot.)

Cleatus takes a good look at the lock in question as if pondering some invisible angles on it, then. Puts his foot against it and slams his boot into it, causing it to turn even if the lock wouldn't normally operate with such an interaction as the door or mechanism turns immediately and violently in response to the force, activating and unlocking in defiance of all that is holy and logical.

Spend an Action to activate. Select a door, lock, or locked target within arm's reach. Cannot be used on Alien technology. You must actively and obviously use A boot to activate this Effect.

You may lock, unlock, and/or open your target.

This Gift's Cost is capped at 2 and cannot be increased further.

  • Any door or restraint that is fastened or shut with a mechanism may be considered locked, at the GM's discretion. Can be used on control panels or other electronic locks, but not computer security systems.
  • If you operate a locking mechanism through this Effect which has some other secondary effect (such as the ignition on a car causing the car to start) you may cause that effect as well.
  • You can target yourself if you qualify as a valid target by the other requirements.

Community Power Gifts

You gain the following benefits as long as you are engaged in combat with Vehicles.

Your attacks with Vehicles deal +1 Bonus Damage. Armor is fully effective against this damage.

You also gain the following effects:

  • Bullet Parry: You may React to and Defend against firearms and other projectiles with Vehicles.
  • Mjolnir: You may call your weapon back to your hand as a Quick Action if it is within 50 feet of you. Can only be used on Vehicles that you have wielded in the past hour.

  • Reminder: Bonus Damage stacks with Weapon Damage, but does not stack with any other Bonus Damage. Instead, the highest Bonus Damage is used.

Exert your Mind and spend 15 minutes to activate. Select a Living target within arm's reach. You cannot target yourself.

You may cure any single disease or poison afflicting your target so long as you have fully diagnosed or understood it. You may cure diseases or poisons even if they are not treatable through modern medicine. During treatment, the malady you are treating does not progress or cause additional damage or other effects.

  • Without some sort of diagnostic Effect, “fully diagnosing” a disease or poison will always require a roll of some sort, frequently Intellect + Medicine, but the specific roll and difficulty is at GM’s discretion.
  • You can target yourself if you qualify as a valid target by the other requirements.

Spend an Action to activate. This Effect cannot be used unless Usless Augments. You must actively and obviously use A token of a Bird (Either a real bird, a convincing fake one, or even well taken pictures) to activate this Effect.

You may withdraw an item from your stash, or add an item that is within 30 feet of you to your stash. You may only stash targets which are not possessed by someone else, and are freestanding and unattached.

You may store any targets in your stash, each no larger than something which could fit inside an SUV (4,000 liters), and you may store up to 3 things at a time.

Time is effectively frozen inside your stash. Anything Sapient inside can still move and may still experience their own localized, subjective passage of time.

Whenever you withdraw an Object from your Stash, you must immediately Stash another object to replace it. You may only stash objects you are attuned to. Attuning an object requires one minute of physical contact.

  • Attempting to stash an Animate target may require a contested roll at GM’s discretion.
  • Containers which hold multiple things may count as a single item so long as the things within are generally packaged together. For instance, you may stash a clip full of bullets, a medical kit full of medical supplies, or a box of crackers, but you cannot stash a backpack full of miscellaneous equipment.
  • You may only attempt to store Objects which are free-standing and disconnected from other things. The use of this Effect will not allow you to sever any connections holding an Object in place.
  • The Maximum Object Size parameter is intended to roughly capture the weight / size restriction of items and isn’t intended to restrict shape. GM discretion is advised. A human being is level 4 in the Maximum Object Size parameter.

You gain the following benefits at all times.

Any Injury you receive heals quickly, reducing its Severity by one level each hour, starting once it becomes stabilized. You may also Exert your Mind and spend an Action to reduce the Severity of a single stabilized Injury by 1. Does not affect Injuries suffered as an activation cost for Effects.

Battle Scars caused by your Injuries are also healed when the Injuries that caused them regenerate. Any Injuries you receive automatically count as a successful Makeshift Stabilization and do not deteriorate further.

As a quick action, you can increase either your Brawn or Dexterity up to the other stat's maximum -1, reducing the other stat by the same amount.

You gain the following benefits as long as using your enhanced brawn or dex requires a quick action to activate, and sets your other stat lower by the same amount instead of raising it.

You are permanently and visibly transformed: Your body constantly shifts and writhes as your muscle and bone reform to better suit your current physical needs. You are considered to be a Sapient, Living being when targeted. Your Brawn is increased by 1 and your Dexterity is increased by 1.

You may make a Bone spike (dagger) attack without additional equipment.

The Severity of any Injury caused by Fire is increased by 2.

Stock Power Gifts

You gain the following benefits as long as as long as you are visibly dressed head to toe in black with hardly any skin showing.

You and any clothes or equipment you are wearing are partially obscured from hearing. All attempts to detect you using hearing are rolled at a -3 dice penalty, , and all attempts to detect you where hearing would assist are rolled at -1 penalty.

Entering Combat or being Injured will end the Effect. When the Effect ends, it is disabled for 1 hour.

  • GMs should use their discretion when determining the exact impacts of this Effect, particularly in conjunction with environmental factors. Standing still against a complex background may render you impossible to detect, and footprints in snow may make it easy. A chance to detect you is not guaranteed.

Exert your Mind and spend an Action to activate.

You transform into a brown bear for one hour or until you choose to end the Effect. You cannot transform into a flying creature. See the Extended System text for stats.

While transformed, you cannot use any equipment (including Artifacts and Consumables), and you cannot use your Active, Direct, or Trap Powers. However, you can use your Passive Powers. Any equipment you are wearing transforms with you.

Injuries and Wound Level are carried over between forms. However, transforming can never kill you; you merely remain Incapacitated until your Injuries are sufficiently healed.

Possession of this Power grants the following Trauma at all times: Intolerance for society. When you are in a situation with strict social protocols (like a trial or a formal dinner) roll Self-Control not to enter a flight or fight response.

  • Creature Stats
    • Large (larger than human, smaller than elephant) Body: 8. Brawn 6. Dexterity 2. Fall damage increased by 2. Armor: 1
All creatures get +3 dice to any non-combat Action that they are naturally adapted for. All creatures Medium and larger may attack by rolling Body, dealing +0 Damage (+1 for “predators”). Gms and Playgroup leaders can apply other bonuses and effects to specific animals.

Exert your Mind and spend 1 minute to activate. Select a Living target within arm's reach. Make a Trauma roll when you activate this Effect. Your target must make a Trauma roll when you activate this Effect. Choose a specific Injury on your target that has not yet been treated with this Effect and roll Charisma + Medicine at Difficulty 6.

If you succeed, the Injury is reduced in Severity by your Outcome. If you reduce its Severity to 0, the Injury is fully healed. Otherwise, it is partially healed and will heal the rest of the way at its natural rate.

This counts as a successful Makeshift Stabilization if the Injury was not already Stabilized; any Battle Scars caused by the Injury will remain.

  • Unstabilized wounds do not degenerate during treatment.
  • You can target yourself if you qualify as a valid target by the other requirements.

Exert your Mind (unless you have been recently attacked by your target) and spend an Action to activate. Select a Sapient target within 20 feet. This Effect cannot be used unless the target is undead, demonic, or another evil creature. You must actively and obviously use a gilded cross to activate this Effect. Roll Charisma + Occult at Difficulty 6. Affected targets may resist by rolling Mind at Difficulty 8 with a -3 dice penalty. If they are incapacitated or unconscious, they fail automatically and their Outcome is 0.

If the Contested Outcome is positive, the target takes Mind damage equal to the Contested Outcome. If you deal at least 3 Mind damage, the target will gain a phobia of holy things as a Trauma. This Trauma may be removed by Effects or mundane therapy, as normal. Affected targets are aware that they are being attacked and can generally tell who did it.

  • You can target yourself if you qualify as a valid target by the other requirements.

Exert your Mind and spend an Action to activate. Select a Animate target within 20 feet. You must actively and obviously use a watch or clock to activate this Effect. Roll Intellect + Science at Difficulty 7.

If you succeed, the target will suffer a dice penalty equal to the Outcome for the next 2 Rounds. Dice pools may be reduced all the way down to 0 by this penalty. This breaks Concentration.

You may Exert your Mind and spend a Reaction to contest an Action someone is taking. Roll Intellect + Science at Difficulty 7. Subtract your Outcome from theirs, and they use the Contested Outcome to determine if their Action succeeds.

  • This Penalty is not removed if a character Exerts their Mind to ignore penalty.
  • If a character has a dice pool reduced to 0, they cannot attempt that action.
  • You can target yourself if you qualify as a valid target by the other requirements.
